Vande Mataram Foundation adopted a few municipal schools where nearly 6000 students study in various languages like Marathi, Hindi, Gujrati, Telgu, Tamil and Urdu. The schools are for students of 1st to 7th standards only. It was noted that the children do not get any family support in their studies and they tend to neglect regular attendance, home work or any extra curricular activities. VMF planned to hold personality development camps for these students. These camps are held in the Diwali or Summer Vacations. The timing of daily schedule is 7 am to 5 pm comprising several activities. Physical training, writing, group songs, group discussions, cultural training, art training, story telling, indoor and outdoor games etc. are conducted. The camp is conducted by VMF volunteers as a part of their social work.

Vande Mataram Foundation has taken up several educational projects for the benefit of students of Municipal schools. There are several aided schools in Mumbai where the Municipal students go for 8th to 10th Std. studies. Special training in Karate, an art of self defense, is given to selected boys and girls of Municipal Schools since last three years. Some of them have shown extraordinary results and we are sure that all the students will get BLACK BELT in due course of time. The Foundation has provided the dresses to the students, arranged the training and paid the exam fees every four months. We have also a supervisor to look after the training facility.

The knowledge of science and the habit of logical thinking is very important for the overall development of one's personality. Hence Vande Mataram Foundation takes initiative in organizing such value added programs for the students. We organized a picnic of the boys and girls studying in the township municipal school of Malad. They were taken to see the Nehru Science Centre and Nehru Planetorium at Worli, Mumbai. Such occasions are important to imbibe the values of scientific approach amongst the children.
